Depth Imaging

Obtaining an accurate velocity of the subsurface is the key for obtaining the temporal and spatial positions of a target and the conventional technique for deriving it is by velocity analysis, a method which most times is incorrect  due to many factors including anisotropy. Although well data provides the most optimal means for obtaining the velocity of the subsurface, well data cannot be everywhere.  The best way to improve the velocity model is through tomography, a technique that utilizes five or more different parameters including the initial velocity model from time processing, dip estimates, semblance and coherency. At Seistrength, we use this technique with ray tracing to do the Kirchhoff pre-stack depth migration using our World class software. Our depth processors are some of the best in the industry with many years of experience from different geologic provinces of the World.
